How to get warm…..

Brrrr….. With the cold weather we’ve been having in Hillcrest lately, I’ve been looking for nice warming foods to cook for supper.

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

  • Eat organic meats such as fish, chicken, beef, lamb & venison
  • Root vegetables are warming …… carrots, potaotes, sweet potatoes, onions & garlic all help to warm you from the inside. Again, choose organic as much as possible.
  • Add the following to your food: Mustard, ginger, cayenne pepper
  • Drink a delicious tea made from fresh ginger, lemon & honey
  • Putting some mustard, ginger & cayenne powder or essential oils in your bath will warm you brilliantly!
  • Also, sticking to seasonal fruit & vegetables is generally a good idea. (list to follow)

So… for supper tonight we will be having chicken casserole with carrots & corn on Sweet potato mash. Hopefully we will all be warmer tonight!
